  9. Centrale Sewer Water (10+ times cleaner then septic water) Septic Water The ultimate goal of an onsite wastewater treatment system is to protect public health and ground water quality. This is achieved by matching the effluent quality to the treatment capacity of the receiving environment. A clean effluent requires less work from the receiving environment (soil).

  11. Impacts of High Nitrate Levels from Septic Tanks Although nitrate is necessary, high concentrations can be harmful to the health of the environment, as well as the economy. Babies under 6 months, may get a disease commonly called, Blue Baby Syndrome, or medically called Methemoglobinemia.
