Updated Plan • Prior to 2nd Annual Report project planning was updated • All Design Studies submitted new milestone/deliverable table • New milestone dates were discussed and agreed with DS leaders • SKADS on track to finish on 30th June 2009
Next 18 months (major milestone for each DS) • DS2: Final Report on SKA configurations • DS 3: • Implementation of Cost and Functional simulator tool • Selection of networking and computing technologies • DS 4: Completion of 2-PAD design • DS 5: Build and first testing of EMBRACE at Westerbork and Nancay (100 tiles) • DS 6: BEST demonstrating beamforming and Hl sensitivity astronomical tests • DS 8 : First iteration of Overall System Design and Project plan
Review on deliverables: DS 8 • Design Study 8 produces the major deliverables of the project (the focal and cohering point of SKADS): • Overall System Design • Preliminary SKA Plan • White Paper for the ISSC • It is the collection of all activities and will show and establish the direction towards the SKA
