  2. History • Arby’s was founded in 1964 by brothers Leroy and Forrest Raffel • The first Arby’s restaurant opened in the city of Boardman, Ohio • Arbys’ first corporate headquarters were located in Youngstown, Ohio • When the restaurant first opened only two employees worked at a time

  3. Products they sell • Different roast beef sandwiches and curly fries are what Arby’s is most well known for • Pepsi products are sold in all Arby’s restaurants • Other menu items include chicken sandwiches, warm turkey sandwiches, apple and chocolate turnovers, and cheesy potato bites

  4. How is Arby’s Doing? • Arby’s total revenue has steadily increased do to the money made from increased franchisees • The chain struggled for a short while after they split from Wendy’s last summer • Arby’s currently has stores in every state except Rhode Island • The average Arby’s restaurant employs 20 workers

  5. Arby’s Future Plans • Arby’s currently doesn’t have any plans for the future, but the company is expected to grow because of more franchisees

  6. How many franchises? • Currently, Arbys has 3,572 franchises • Arbys is not listed in the top 100 franchises list for this year

  7. The Arby’s Foundation • The Arby’s foundation was formed in 1986, it’s goal is to help stop child hunger • By 2015, the foundation hopes to wipe out child hunger nationwide

  8. How can you Own a Franchise? • Arby’s requires that you fill out their questionnaire on their website and fill out an application • You need to have at least 500,000 dollars in liquidation assets

Start up Fee and Financial Commitments • The average start up fee for an Arby’s franchise is around 300,000 dollars • You will have to be willing to pay two percent of your revenue to Arby’s • Arby’s charges a two percent royalty fee the first 24 months, then a 4 percent fee after that • 1.2 percent goes towards advertising for your franchise

  10. How does Arby’s Help? • Arby’s helps franchisees advertise and to find a location for their store • They provide operating and development teams for your store, they are in charge of most of the construction and real estate responsibilities

  11. Requirements of the Owner • Arby’s requires owners to have a minimum of 500,000 dollars in liquidation assets • Owners need to have a history in the food service industry • Have a history of previous business success • Someone who would eventually be willing to own multiple Arby’s stores
