  1. What does the Local Control Funding Formula or LCFF mean for our District? Inglewood Unified School District

New State Budget priorities • Governor Jerry Brown has tackled the Budget problems • Proposition 30 enabled the state to avoid further cuts to education • The State Budget is balanced • Common Cores State Standards (CCSS) have been adopted • New Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) grants are being implemented.

  3. Local Control Funding Formula • Provides transparency regarding school budgets • Improves funding equity across school districts • Improves local accountability • Provides additional funding for supplemental services

  4. Local Control Funding Formula (Cont’d) • Additional funding will be provided over eight year period • Requires a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

Local Control Accountability Plan- LCAP • On or before July 1, 2014, the District must adopt the LCAP using a state mandated template • The LCAP must include a description of the following: • Annual Goals and Progress Indicators to measure student outcomes. • Actions, services and expenditures designed to improve student learning • Process used to engage parents, teachers, administrators, staff, students, unions and other stakeholders.

  6. TheDistrict must monitor under the LCAP: • All students • “Numerically significant subgroups” = 30 students or more with valid test scores in any group except foster youth, which requires 15 or more • LCFF provides additional funding for supplemental services for students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program, English Learners and Foster Youth
