  2. Early Life • He was born on 8th of January 1942 in Oxford • Hawking had two younger sisters Philippa and Mary • His parents were Frank and Isobel Hawking • Hawking's parents both went to the University of Oxford when they were younger

  3. Education • Stephen Hawking began school at the Byron House school • When Stephen was eight they moved to St. Albans, Hertfordshire and attended the St. Albans High School for Girls for a few months • Stephen took a trip to Majorca with his family to see a friend called Beryl and her husband and when they retuned Stephen went to Radlett School for a year • From September 1952 he stayed at St. Albans • Stephen was not doing good at reading but very good at Science • In 1959 Hawking went to Oxford University and later married Jane Wilde on 14th July 1965

Why he was Famous • He wrote a book called ‘A brief History of Time’ and other books which explains about black holes and the universe for kids and adults • His own research is mostly about black holes and providing theories of their behaviour • He received lots of rewards for his theories and research like Albert Einstein Medal and the Wolf Prize in physics

  5. The Big Bang Theory • Stephen Hawking always loved Science and he became a theoretical physicist and cosmologist • He came up with the Big Bang Theory • Stephen has always been talking about the Universe and how it all started with the Big Bang and black holes

  6. Disease • Stephen spent all his life in science and he would never stop • He suffers from a amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a type of motor neuron disease that has left him paralised • It came around his 20’s. • He still suffers from it to this day

  7. Now life • Stephen Hawking is currently a Lucasian professor of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge • Stephen doesn't think the human race will survive for the next thousand years unless we spread into space.
