Basic facts • Created by Microsoft • “Process your digital photos and create slide shows for sharing” (CNET) • FREE • Specifications: - 256MB RAM - 400MB hard disk space - Windows Media Player 10 - installed locally on Windows machines • Fast and easy way to share photos through a slide show. • Help and Tutorials - YouTube - Jakesonline.org - In app help button • Reviews - “...the fact it’s free- makes Photo Story 3 one of our favorite choices for creating slide shows” (pcmag). - “With a little time and effort, this surprisingly versatile tool can tell all kinds of stories” (CNET staff).

  3. Import & Quick Edit Tools • Multiple images can easily be imported at once. • Auto fix • Red eye fix • Rotate • Crop • Help button has many useful topics

  4. Photo editing options • This feature auto adjusts and balances image colors. • This feature gives effect such as black/white, negative, sepia, water color, etc.

  5. Adding Text • Open this box to change text font, size, color, and style. • Position text within frame. • Move slide position. • Delete selected image. Con: User is limited to only one text font, color, size and location.

  6. Customize Motion Pro: The motion and transition are what bring the slide show to life. • Transition Selections • Transition Duration • Start and end frame positions. • Very helpful for previewing your work as you go.

  7. Audio & Saving • Add Audio to slide show • - sound effects • - music • - record your own narration • Saves project as a .wmv file • Save locally or email • Set video quality settings

Cons • Does not support video • Lacks text editing customizations • Each slide must be edited individually (no apply to all setting) • Images have to fill screen Pros • FREE! • Very easy to learn and use • Fast • Good for many ages • Share events, trips, holidays, weddings, projects, etc. • FREE! • I rate this software a 6 out of 10 because it’s easy to use, the slide show is nice, but it is not a solution for every presentation.
