Keep it Simple • One to two font styles • One graphic image per slide • Maximum six bullets per page • Use key words and phrases, not sentences • Maximum six words per bullet • Contrasting colors for text and background

Presentation • Present in front of class • Do not read presentation to class • Be familiar with the content • Practice at least once before presenting
Slide 1 Slide 2 Name Class/ Period Due Date (include a picture of yourself or other visual representation) Title of book Author’s Name
Slide 3 • Exposition • Setting (place & time) • Characters • Protagonist, Antagonist, other important characters • Tone (mood/ atmosphere) Include an image that conveys the setting (not an actual picture from the book)
Slide 4 • Conflict • Who or what are the two opposing forces involved? • Give specific names/titles • Also state if it is man vs. self, man vs. nature, man vs. man, man vs. society, man vs. fate, etc…
Slide 5 • Rising Action • Include 2-3 major events that add suspense and lead to the climax. • Remember that rising action is usually a series of obstacles that stand in the way of the protagonist resolving their problem
Slide 6 • Climax • Turning point • Identify the most suspenseful point in the novel
Slide 7 • Resolution • What is the resolution of the major conflict? • How does the story end?
Slide 8 • Theme • What is the theme (moral/lesson) of the story? • How can you apply this to yourself or someone you know? Give an example. • Include an image that best symbolizes the theme of the novel you read
Grading • Slides 1 & 2 /5 • Slide 3 /5 • Slide 4 /5 • Slide 5 /5 • Slide 6 /5 • Slide 7 /5 • Slide 8 /10 • Conventions /5 • Originality & Creativity /5
Grade A • Include all required elements • Turn in on time • Use perfect grammar • Be very familiar with book content and plot • You clearly understand the assignment • Demonstrate much creativity and effort
Grade B • Include all required elements • Turn in on time • Few errors in grammar usage • Errors do not distract viewer • Pretty familiar with book content • Show understanding of the assignment • Demonstrate creativity and effort
Grade C • All slide are present • Some grammar errors • Errors are distracting • Diction is too casual • Somewhat familiar with book content • Little creativity and effort • Limited understanding
Grade D • Appear to not have understood assignment • Missing many elements • Serious grammar errors • Underdeveloped • Little knowledge of book content • Virtually no creativity and/or effort
