  1. Situations When Abortion Should Be Legal

  2. Reasons Women Receive Abortions Social Reasons VS. Hard Cases • Unready for responsibility • Not financially stable • Unwanted pregnancy • Single Parent • Interference with education or career plans • Mother’s heath in danger • Physically impaired baby • Rape victims

  3. Women: When Should Abortion Be Legal?

  4. Men: When Should Abortion be Legal?

  5. American Views on Abortion • 80% Americans agree that abortion should be legal to save the women’s life, preserve her health, or when the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest. • 54% of Americans agree that abortion should be legal if the baby is physically impaired • 42% feel that abortions should be made harder to receive, no matter the reason. • 41% feel that the government should not alter availability of abortions. • Only 15% feel that abortions should be easier to get.

  6. Hard Case Abortions • Hard case abortions are • Mothers health is in danger • Physically Impaired baby • Rape or Incest • In these cases, many Americans are understanding and feel like it should be the choice of the mother, father, and family doctor if the pregnancy should be continued.

  7. Cons of Abortion being made Illegal • Women would find other ways to rid the unwanted pregnancy • The abortion would take place in the home, rather than in a hospital • Women would not only be jeopardizing the fetus’s life, but her own as well.

  8. When Considering Hard Case Abortion • When the women’s health is in danger, many times there is no choice but to receive an abortion, unless the women wants to risk her life by giving birth. • While rape and incest victims have more understanding when wanting to receive an abortion, many Americans feel like they should still consider the babies life and find a family for adoption. • Many Americans do not agree that just because the baby may be physically impaired, it should be aborted, but in many cases more than half of Americans are more understanding.

  9. My Views on Hard Case Abortion • I am pro-life, I believe that everyone has the right to live, even a fetus. • I am also understanding that in these hard case situations, we should be more understanding when the mother wants to receive an abortion. • Abortion is never an easy decision, but for some women in these hard case situations, it may feel like their only option.
