Education for Students with Special Educational Needs (I) • General class: students with not serious learning difficulties • General class with co-teaching: • students who can follow the class syllabus • students who have serious special needs but there is not a special school or parallel class in the area

Education for Students with Special Educational Needs (II) • Parallel class • common and specialised syllabus for students with less serious SEN • specialised - group or individual - syllabus in the context of an extended schedule for students with serious SEN – when there is not a special educational school in the area

Education for Students with Special Educational Needs (III) • Blind Students/Students with impaired vision: General Class • Students with Autism: • Highly Functional (Asberger): General Class – Co-teaching by • a) Special Educational Teacher • b) Assistant provided by the family • Students with Autism and Retardment: Special School

Problems in Implementation • Lack of money: Insufficiency in buildings, equipment, special education teachers, teacher-training • The wash-back effect: teachers teach focusing on final exams • Disbelief to diagnoses – teachers’ personal beliefs and prejudices • Classroom organisation – teaching methods • Competitive system/environment
