  1. THE INSTITUTE OF TEACHING AND RESEARCH IN AYURVEDA BILL, 2020! A. Introduction Minister of State for AYUSH, Mr Shripad Yesso Nail, introduced The Institute ofTeaching and Research in Ayurveda Bill, 2020 on 10 February 2020. The Ayurveda Bill aims to merge three institutions dedicated to the research and teaching of Ayurveda into one central institute called 'the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda'. The Bill states that it should be declared as an institution of National Importance. B. The Merger There currently exist three institutes, namely: 1.theInstitute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar; 2.Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Jamnagar; 3.the Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jamnagar, The Bill proposes merging them into one institute called 'Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda'. It will be situated on the campus of the Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, and shall be held to be an institute of national importance. C. The institution The Ayurveda Bill states that the institution shall consist of: 1.the Minister of AYUSH, 2.Secretary and technical head of Ayurveda, Ministry of AYUSH, 3.Secretary, department of health, the government of Gujarat, 4.the Director of the Institute, 5.Director-General, Central Council for Research in Ayurveda, 6.three experts in Ayurveda with expertise in education, industry, and research, 7.three Members of Parliament. The institute's first director shall be the existing person holding the post of The Director of the Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda. The governing body of the institute shall exercise such functions and prescribed. The functions of the institute, as per the Ayurveda Bill are:

  2. 1.provide for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Ayurveda (including pharmacy), 2.prescribe courses and curricula for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Ayurveda, 3.provide facilities for research in the various branches of Ayurved, 4.hold examinations and grant degrees, diplomas, and other distinctions and titles in education in Ayurveda and pharmacy, and 5.maintain well-equipped colleges and hospitals for Ayurveda supporting staffs such as nurses and pharmacists. D. Our word The synchronization among separate institutions will help demonstrate high education standards and will emerge as a guiding institution for the entire AYUSH sector. It shall provide the highest quality of training to personnel in several branches of Ayurveda and take up studies in the field of Ayurveda. Found this interesting?
