Luke 24:36-371. The presence of the risen Christ And just as they (the Emmaus disciples) were telling about it, Jesus himself was suddenly standing there among them. “Peace be with you”, he said. But the whole group was startled and frightened, thinking they were seeing a ghost!NLT
Romans 8:10 Christ lives within you, so even thought your body will die because of sin, the Spirit (of God) gives you life because you have been made right with God. NLT
Christ in You • Gal. 2:20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer me who lives, but Christ lives in me. • Eph. 3:17 Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. • Col. 1:27 And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you the assurance of sharing his glory.
The Presence of Christ Romans 13:14 Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires
2. The Proof of the ResurrectionLuke 24:38-43 “Why are you frightened?” he asked. Why are your hearts filled with doubt?(1) Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. (2) Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies as you see that I do”. As he spoke he showed them his hands and his feet. Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder. Then he asked them (3) “Do you have anything to eat?” Then they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he ate it as they watched.
3. The Preparation of the DisciplesLuke 24:44-45 Then he (Jesus) said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled. Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures.
4. The Proclamation of the gospelLuke 46-49 And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem. There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent. You are witnesses of all these things”.
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. NLT
