The provision of a safe, accepting, cooperative and respectful atmosphere in which a student feels secure in learning new information is imperative. Risk-takers welcome.

  10. BE PREPARED • Homework is Completed and In Health class WITH you. • Computer Up & Running. • Writing Utensil and Notebook present. • Study for your tests.

DEMONSTRATE RESPECT • If someone else is talking, you are not. • Show Compassion for your classmates. • Raise your hand if you wish to add a comment or ask a question. • Be Considerate of ALL individuals in the classroom. • Do not offer up anything in class that you would not want the Pope to hear, see, notice, or read! • Use the restroom, get a drink of water, sanitize your hands during your pass period to avoid class disruption

GIVE 100% EFFORT • MAXIMIZE your minimum! • Show me that you care. • Do your homework-- it shouldn’t take more than 15 min./ day. • Study for your tests-- a little bit every day goes a long way • Pay Attention in Class. • Try your best when completing anything with your name on it! • Study!– there will be days when I don’t assign HW….use the time you normally spend on it to review the day’s class notes. • Be the BEST you YOU can BE!

  13. BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT • Pay Attention. • Be Alert. • Raise your hand to offer insight or ask a question or answer a question. • Volunteer when asked. • Step up and help a classmate if the opportunity presents itself.

  14. VENTURE OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE • Be Flexible • Be Compassionate • Put yourself out there • If you have a question, ask it. There is a very good chance that someone else has the same question. • Understand that there is more than one way to do things that aren’t necessarily wrong.

  15. MRS. KARAS:QUARTER GRADING POLICIES 40%- Participation *Everyone will start the quarter with 100% in Participation. If the student follows Class Policy, he/she will keep their 100%; otherwise it will cost the student 5% pts./ infraction.* 40%- Unit Tests *Formal, Summative Evaluation for every Completed Unit that will be taken on-line via Exam View* 20%- Quarter Project *Technology based, Problem Driven Project that will be uploaded to the Class Wiki when completed.*

  17. THEOLOGY OF THE BODY A Catholic Version of Family Life Experiences/ Sex Education. TOB explores Human Sexuality from Social, Mental, Emotional, Physical and Religious Points of View. TOB will count at 20% of your SEMESTER AVERAGE. P days- Boys meet in Room 234 w/ Mr. Kissinger while the Girls will Meet for Health Class elsewhere FIRST TOB DAY: 9/10/14 H days- Girls meet in Room 234 w/ Mrs. Leffas while the Boys will Meet for Health Class elsewhere FIRST TOB DAY: 9/3/14

Re:Skeletal, Muscular, Integumentary, Nervous, Circulatory, & Respiratory (time allowing).
