  5. Turkish Culture.. • Over ninety nine percent of Turkish people are muslim • Turkey is the only democratic secular country in the Middle East • Turkey’s economy is ranked among the top twenty largest. • Turkish people commonly drink tea • Belly dancing is very popular

Holidays • New Years Day • April 23rd: National Sovereignty and Children´s Day • May 19th: Atatürk Commemoration and Youth & Sports Day • August 30th: Victory Day • October 29th: Republic Day • KurbanBayrami is on November 27th and is the most important religious festival. It lasts for four days.
