  5. What did Wegener notice? • The fit of the continents, as shown by the geographer Snider-Pelligrini • Fossil Locations

  6. Arthur Holmes • Holmes was an English geologist who in the 1930’s speculated that the circular motion of the mantle carried the continents along in much the same way as a conveyor belt. This idea influenced some of the workers who truly put forward the theory of Plate Tectonics.
