  2. When was it developed? • Nylon was developed on February 28, 1935 by Dr. Wallace Carothers & his colleagues.

How was nylon developed? • Nylon is made from two chemical compounds, Hexamethylenediamine and Adipic Acid. • Each substance contains 6 carbons. • The two compounds are combined to form Nylon salt. • The nylon salt is heated and water is removed and the small molecules combine to form large molecules. This is called Polymerization.
