  3. Success criteria • I will know I have written a narrative when I have included characters, setting and plot.

  4. Step 1 First paragraph starter: As we came through the clouds we could see … Scribe write this in the middle of your page.

  5. Step 2 As we came through the clouds we could see … Brainstorm your ideas onto the post it notes – one word (noun) or picture per post-it Scribe(s) write these words - stick them onto your table as you do them.

  6. Step 3 As a group choose the 5 best ideas. Stick them on the table in order of preference.

  7. Step 4 Draw a small picture of a shuttle / space ship Group member number 4 does the drawing with others suggesting ideas.

  8. Step 5 • Stick post-its on poster • Draw lines to connect – leave a gap

  9. Step 6 Write 4-6 adjectives for every noun Scribe(s) write adjectives (describing words) next to the noun. Each team member has to contribute ideas.

  10. Step 7 • Write 2-3 similes Comparing things using as or like • White as ….. • Flat as …. • Scared / excited like a ….. Scribe records

  11. Step 8 • Write 2-3 metaphors • Comparing without the use of as or like He is an ox (he is strong) Scribe records

  12. Step 9 • Add value …….. add ideas …… Each team member has to contribute ideas. Scribe writes

  13. Step 10 • What ideas do you want to use in your writing? Move into writing
