  6. The process • Think about the note that is a half step BELOW the name of the key. This note is the last sharp in your key signature! • Now, name all of the sharps up to and including the one you just named above. Your key signature contains only those sharps!

  7. Practice with your Stand partner • What is in the key signature for…. • Key of D • Key of B • Key of G • Key of A • Key of E

  8. Now, let’s look again from another perspective! • What if Ms. Miller asks, “What key is this piece in?” • We go through the opposite process: • Name the last sharp in the key signature, and go up one half step. That is the name of the key!
