  1. Marle Hall 2019Parent Briefing Wednesday 4th September Mr Sanderson, Mrs Barritt, Matriarch Nelson, Mrs Stevens Mr Faulkner

  2. Aims • To take part in outdoor activity challenges, including following trails, in familiar, unfamiliar and changing environments. • To use a range of orienteering and problem-solving skills • To work with others to meet the challenges. Personal Responsibility Respect Challenge Teamwork

  3. Before the Trip • Complete and return medical form • Prepare items from the kit list (label everything!) • Pack suitcase • Plastic bag for wet/dirty clothing • Small allowance of £10 change (tuck shop on site) • Include any medication needed (this must be clearly labelled and the form returned prior to departure date) • Stamp

  4. Kit List Labelled! DON’T FORGET TO BRING A LUNCH BOX WITH YOUR NAME ON AND A SMALLER BOX FOR SANDWICHES

On the day of departure… • Time of departure: 08:30 – 16.09.19 • Children must be outside of school by: 08:00 – 08:15 • Children bring own suitcase to the coach • Any medication given to Mrs Nelson before departure (this includes travel sickness medication) • Children will need to bring packed lunch for the trip • Chance to say farewells!

  6. On Arrival… • ETA: 13:00 • Meet the very friendly staff • Tour the (private!) facilities • Kit issued to children (must know own boot size!) • Dorms allocated • Duties allocated • Walk in Marle Hall Woods • Evening activities –Team challenges

  7. Daily Routine

Itinerary • Children split into 4 groups with 8-10 children • Outdoor leader leads group activity accompanied by a member from Kineton team • If activity not on grounds mini buses take children out • Every child will have the opportunity to complete all 6 activities. This can be weather dependent and at can cause changes to the timetable. • Children will be told which group and room they are in once they arrive at Marle Hall

  9. Evening Activities • Children complete their duties • Team building activities including; - Night-line -Team Challenges - Ropes Course • Talent Show later on in the week (hopefully round the campfire!) • Time for reflection and diary entry • Free time – common room

  10. Last Day… • All packed up the night before! Kit returned • Orienteering • EDT: 11:00 • ETA @ Kineton:15:00 – 15:30.Updates to be given to school and check Twitter and Facebook

And finally… • Children will have opportunity to send post (highly unlikely for any incoming post to be received in time) • No contact with children unless in emergencies – liaise with school. • No additional food needed – we will be stuffed! • http://www.marlehall.co.uk/parent.html • Questions...
