  1. Almarae Rose Swan What determines who I become? Created by: Almarae S. and Cory W. Driving question: what determines who I become? Well in opinion I determine who I become. DNA , nature, and nurture help shape who I become but I have the choice to make good or bad life for myself. Not anybody else. There are a myriad or things that can help shape my life but not determine how my life is going to be like, because that’s my job. In similarities, it’s like a coach and his basketball team. The coach can help and guide the team to a victory, but he can’t determine the victory. It’s all in the hands of the players. They determine the win. So in my perspective I determine who I will become. Cory Jay Wabaunsee Nature vs. nurture Someone that determines who I become is myself. I can control who I want to become, and who I am going to be. But one person who I know that will help me become who I want to become is Jodi Sheppard. She has been there for me when times were tough. She has influenced me to be all that I can be, and more. She has convinced me that I am an amazing. (: Without Jodi, I think my freshman year would be a lot harder. The year has barely started and I have done things that I regret. But Jodi has been there for me through it all. She has an awesome personality, she’s an amazing person, if you already know her, consider yourself lucky, and for those of you who don't know her... You need to meet her. You’re missing out on something special. As I get to be an adult, I want somebody to look up to me as I look up to Jodi. We think Nurture has more of an impact on what determines who you become because if you live in a bad community. Where there Is nothing but bad influences such as drugs, alcohol, and gang activity. You have a bad example on how your life should be. But say you live in a good community. Where there is hardly any substances of alcohol or drugs. You have a better chances of succeeding your ambitions' in life. But as for nature we think it isn't as important because its what your born with and its one thing you cant change. You can change your environment by moving away from the bad influences or something. You don’t have the choice to pick your appearance, but you have the choice to be successful in life. -You get what you get and don’t throw a fit. Albert Einstein Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany. On March 14, 1879. after a while his family moved to Munich and began schooling at Luitpold gymnasium. He went to a few schools before he got his degree in physics and mathematics. He became a very intelligent man and he taught other people his knowledge about physics and mathematics. He helped involve theory's to being answered. Abraham Lincoln Some of you know me, a lot of you don’t. I’m new/old to the school. I used to live in the Valley until the age of 11, and then I moved to Omak. This is were I started to rodeo and horse race a lot more often. In the summer of 2010, I came back to the Valley. I hope this was a good idea, so far it has been.  I am a freshman. I like to play sports, rodeo, and horse race. The sports I play are basketball, volleyball, and I run track. T he events I do in rodeo are barrel racing, pole bending and my specialty is steer/cow riding. The racing events I like to be a part of are the Suicide Race* in Omak, the Pendleton Round-Up*, and pretty much anything else. Some other things I like to do are hunt, fish, and hang out with my friends and family. I’m a very outdoorsy kind of person. When I get older and out of college, i hope to hit the rodeo trail. Maybe I can get a job that requires something to do with rodeo or horses. I was looking at going into sports medicine so while I’d be at a rodeo I could help the cowboys that get hurt. I would look at being a large animal vet, but that’s a whole lot of years in school, and I think it would be a hassle to be a vet and rodeo, if you know what I mean. Anyways, this is who I am so deal with it. Aze! This is who I am, and who I’d like to become. Thank you!                                                                            Cory Jay Wabaunsee *note: i do not compete in these races. I only help my uncle train the horses. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. he had a struggling life when he was a young buck. He married a woman named Marry Todd. They had four boys. In 1858 Lincoln ran against Stephen A. Douglas for senator. He lost the election. But two years later he became president. On January 1st, 1863, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation. On April 14, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theater by John Wilkes Booth. All in all, he cant history in a a positive way. “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.” -Michael Jordan Something's he solved or helped being solved. Special Theory of Relativity (1905), Relativity (English translations, 1920 and 1950), General Theory of Relativity (1916), Investigations on Theory of Brownian Movement (1926), and The Evolution of Physics (1938). Among his non-scientific works, About Zionism (1930), Why War? (1933), My Philosophy (1934), and Out of My Later Years (1950) are perhaps the most important. Who am I? This year I am roaming the halls of White Swan High School. I am a freshman. I am currently 180 months young. My momma gave birth to me on September 3rd, 1995. My ambition in life is to play basketball at a college level or better. In other words make to the WNBA. I have found the love of my life. It is basketball, the other half of me. Have you ever had the feeling of scoring 100% on a test, well that feeling for me is making a deep three pointer in someone’s eye. My worst feeling that I fear is losing on of my loved ones. If I were to pick one word to define me it would be a baller. I live to play basketball. I love the feeling of dribbling, shooting, feel my adrenaline going because the game is becoming intense. In other words I feel empowered. I grew up playing basketball. Basketball is my sport. Let’s just say basketball is my passion. What is yours? "The important thing is not to stop questioning.
