  8. MME Retest Eligibility • Based on Spring 2007 MME scores • Only one retest opportunity • Fall or Spring of 12th Grade • Only if needed to qualify for Michigan Promise / installment payment • OR Grade 12 first-time tester

  9. Spring 2007 MME Scores • Level 1 or 2 in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Science • Exceeds or meets state standards • Qualified for Michigan Promise installment payment • Not eligible to retest

Spring 2007 MME Scores • Valid MME score in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Science • Level 3 or 4 in at least one subject • Eligible for Michigan Promise scholarship after successfully completing two years of college • Did not qualify for installment payment • May retest – MME voucher status code 1

  11. Spring 2007 MME Scores • Did not receive valid MME score in one or more subjects - Reading, Writing, Mathematics, or Science • Not eligible for Michigan Promise scholarship • Must retest and receive a valid score in each subject to qualify for Michigan Promise

  15. MME Fall 2007 Retest • Day 1 – National ACT Plus Writing • Day 2 – WorkKeys assessments and Michigan Mathematics • Day 3 – Michigan Science, Social Studies, and Writing

  16. MME Fall Retest • Student must take all components • Day 1 (ACT Plus Writing) without the remaining components will not generate any MME scores • Day 2 and Day 3 without Day 1 (ACT Plus Writing) will not generate any MME scores in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, or Science

MME Accommodations Testing Window • MME Day 2 and Day 3 • Accommodations – local decision based on IEP, Section 504 Plan, or ELL instruction • At school • October 30 – November 14, 2007 • May not begin accommodated testing prior to standard test administration • Must be administered in sequence

  24. Registering for the Fall Retest – MME Day 1 • MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing national test administration • Test Date – Only October 27, 2007 • Registration and Voucher Process • Registration Categories

  25. MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing • Fall Retest – Only Saturday, October 27th, 2007 (ACT National Test Day) • Testing at National Centers • Registration deadline – September 21, 2007 • Late Registration – October 5, 2007 • Student must pay additional late registration fee of $19.00

  26. Registering for MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing To facilitate student registration: • Online registration available • Non-cognitive data from Spring 2007 MME carried forward under the SSN or ACT ID from state testing

  27. Registering for MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing Online Student Registration (cont.) • Students don’t need to complete pages 2-3 of registration folder • Students can make changes to the non-cognitive information if they wish to

  28. Registering for MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing Exception: • Non-cognitive data will be carried forward only for students who received official ACT scores • Not state-allowed • Not voided or cancelled

  35. ACT - Approved Accommodations MME Day 1 Students – Requesting ACT-Approved Accommodations • Must register using an ACT2007-2008 Registration Folder (except special testing) • Must submit the appropriate request form based on their accommodations

  36. Standard Time National Testing with Accommodations • Students complete an ACT 2007-2008 Registration Folder • All accommodations requests must be via paper

Extended Time National Testing (cont) • If approved for Timing Code 6 – Spring 2007 MME and want the same accommodations – apply for Extended Time Testing. • Submit copy of ACT Approval Letter for Timing Code 6 -- replaces side 2 of the 2007-2008 Application for ACT Extended Time National Testing request form.

  40. ACT Special Testing • Request Special Testing for all timing codes (except 6) • Students do not complete a Registration Folder • Submit 2007-2008 Request for ACT Special Testing + Voucher

State-Allowed Accommodations • No State-Allowed for Day 1 Fall Retest • Options (for Fall Retest 2007): • Register to test Standard Time on Day 1 • Request ACT-Approved Accommodations (Standard Time with Accommodations, Extended Time or Special Testing) • Wait until Spring 2008 for retest opportunity

  44. Fall 2007 MME Voucher • Personalized Voucher • School received personalized vouchers for students eligible to retake the MME • To be used to register for MME Day 1 – ACT Plus Writing

Voucher – First Time Tester • Verify student eligibility • Claim the student and assign to the Fall 2007 MME test cycle on the OEAA Secure Site • Assign a blank voucher to the student • Validate the voucher with a barcode label printed from the OEAA Secure Site (place on front of voucher – do not cover voucher number)

  46. Fall 2007 MME Vouchers What does the voucher cover? • Basic fee for ACT Plus Writing (required option for MME) • Valid for October 27, 2007 test date only Does not cover: • Late fee • Extra college choices • Standby fee

  47. Fall 2007 MME Vouchers School responsible for • Notifying students and parents of MME retest status • Distributing vouchers to only those students eligible and planning to take the Fall 2007 MME Retest • Registration Deadline – September 21, 2007
