What is Lip Dub? • A type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. • It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song or any recorded audio then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song. • There is often some form of mobile audio device used such as an MP3 player. Often they look like simple music videos, although many involve a lot of preparation and production. • Lip dubs are done in a single unedited shot that often travel through different rooms and situations within a building. • They have become popular with the advent of mass participatory video content sites like YouTube.

How can Schools use Lip Dub? • To showcase what their school has to offer • To give the overview of the school’s PBIS program. • To demonstrate the School’s Behavior Expectations. • To showcase different schools in the school district. • To send out messages about Bullying • To send a message to stakeholders in the community(i.e. Thank you to the Board of Education)

An example of a previous Lip Dub Contest for High Schools http://tribweb.upickem.net/engine/Rules.aspx?contestid=65062 Rules • Participants lip-synch the words of the song used on the sound track of that song. • Video are shot in ONE continuous take. • The ONLY editing technique allowed within the one continuous take is adding the final audio soundtrack to the video. • The ONLY video graphic/text allowed may be in the beginning or ending of the video. No other video graphics or effects allowed within the continuous take. • Video file size cannot exceed 200 MB. • Videos are shot in one of the following formats: • .avi, .dv, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .mpeg, .3gp, .asf, .wmv, .mpg
