Introductions • Glenn Deck - Saskatchewan Property Management
Tips on Approach • Know your customer ( Tip 11) • Where are they, what are they buying, what is the market within government • Relationships are important • Service and reliability • How responsive are you to your customers • We are moving away from “low compliant” to more of a “best overall value” evaluation
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 1 • SUBMIT YOUR BID ON TIME: -Late bids - date, time and location • We do not accept late bids
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 2 • Address all mandatory criteria • This is a show stopper - mandatory means mandatory
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 3 • Fully address all rated requirements • May not be a show stopper but the quality of the response will determine your standing in the competition
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 4 • Follow the requested format • Bidding with a different format will make it more difficult for evaluators • There is a risk the evaluator will not find pertinent information if it is not where they expect to find it
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 5 • Accepting the stated terms and conditions • Normally bidders must accept the terms and conditions detailed in the tender
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 6 • Check your pricing • Unit price prevails where there is an error
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 7 • Changing your bid after closing • Your bid is irrevocable once the competition closes
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 8 • Never make assumptions – if you have a question, seek clarification • The best advice is to make no assumptions • If you have a question - ask it
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 9 • Provide detailed information • We can only evaluate what has been submitted. Even if we are familiar with your company we will only rate your proposal on what has been submitted
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 10 • Review the evaluation criteria and selection method • Look to the solicitation document to determine how your bid will be evaluated
Tips for successful bidding – Tip 11 • Know your client – have market presence -Meet with clients on a regular basis -Keep your client information current -Request a meeting to discuss the RFP -Ask for any additional background information -Do research on the web
