  2. ∑∑Φ SIGMA SIGMA PHI(SSP) Our goals are to further the science of osteopathic medicine and its standards of practice; to improve the scholastic standing and to promote a higher degree of fellowship among its students, to bring about a closer relation and understanding between the student body and the officials and members of the faculties of our college. What is Sigma Sigma Phi? A message from our chapter President Hello everyone, my name is Tina Abraham, and I am the current president for Sigma Sigma Phi Iota chapter at Michigan State University (school of the future BCS champions!!) . First of all, my apologies for not being able to attend the conference, however you will have the pleasure of getting to know Iota Chapter’s wonderful Vice President Iman Elgammal. In this presentation, you will hopefully gain insight on our goals as a chapter and the impact we have made on our community. If you have any questions feel free to contact me: abrah104@msu.edu

  7. CAP program • 2 Michigan local high school with first generation college bound students • Mentor/Tutor • Give students direction • Positive role models

  8. Fit for life • Promote healthy habits amongst classmates and faculty • Run fitness class (you are more than welcome to come try out Tina’s butt’s and gut’s class!) • Teach nutrition classes/meditation/yoga/etc

  9. Above the boards • Peers teaching peers high yield topics for upcoming boards • Review the upcoming systems in our curriculum while integrating basic science classes.

Goals • Continue to be an essential component in MSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine with our high scholastic achievement program and dedication to service • Promote the osteopathic philosophy at local high schools • Promote osteopathic medicine globally through participation with MSUCOM mission trips: Dominican Republic, Egypt, Guatemala, and Costa Rica this past year, and Brazil this winter • By May 2011, more then 2700hours of community service will have been served by MSUCOM SSP members
