Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) Committee Update • MIL-STD-882E Implementation • Working with Aerospace Industrial Association (AIA) on rewrite of National Aerospace Standard 411 (NAS411) • NAS411 "Hazardous Materials Management Program" • DoD Acquisition ESOHIPT teaming with AIA • Goal of rewrite: provide detailed implementation instructions to contractors on implementation of the MIL-STD-882E, DoD Standard Practice for System Safety, Task 108, "Hazardous Materials Management Plan" • Key element: list of hazardous materials categorized per Task 108 as Prohibited, Restricted, or Tracked • Most recent meeting on 29 Jan 2013 • Working on combination of eight 882E presentations from 2012 NDIA SE Conference into DAU Training Course
Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) Committee Update • Development of handbook for early Systems Engineering HSI & ESOH integration into pre-MS-A JCIDS activities • Worked with the Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) staff and Navy HSI to finalize Statement of Work (SOW) • DSOC evaluating proposals now • Work could begin in March 2013 • Development of PESHE Guide and Training to supplement the new Defense Acquisition Guidebook Chapter 4, Systems Engineering • DSOC awarded contract • Kick-off meeting on 11 Feb 2013 • DoD Acquisition ESOHIPT Working Group of Government representatives will serve as reviewers of work • Collaboration on software system safety tools
