  1. Notes #1 (1.1 & 1.2) 1-1 Points, Lines, and Planes 1-2 Linear Measure and Precision Standard 1.0: Students demonstrate understanding by identifying and giving examples of undefined terms. Objective: Identify and model points, lines, and planes Identify collinear and coplanar points and intersecting lines and planes in space. Identify segments and compute with measures

  2. Definitions Undefined Terms: are terms that can only be explained using examples and descriptions. • Point: has no size. Think “a dot” • Space: is the set of all points

  3. t • Line: a series of points that extends without end in two directions. Collinear points Non-collinear points B AB reads line AB reads line t A Points that don’t lay on a line. Points that lay on a line

  4. Plane: is a flat surface that is two dimensional, it also extends without end. • Coplanar: Points and lines in the same plane P B • C • A • plane ABC plane P

  5. •H •J •M •L •G •K

  6. DO NOW…..CW #1 pg. 9 (1-9)

  7. Line segment (segment): is a line with endpoints. A B Endpoints Name the segment AB or BA

  8. Point M is between points P and Q if and only if P, Q and M are collinear Segment Addition Segment Subtraction PM + MQ = PQ QR = MR – MQ

  9. DO NOW…..CW #1 pg. 17 (7-10)
