  5. What’s the Difference? • We’ve heard the term clause used with sentence types. There are two kinds. What are they? • Independent & Dependent • What’s the difference between the two types of clauses? • Independent clauses can act as simple sentences, while dependent clauses have to be attached to an independent clause. • So what’s the difference between a phrase & a clause? • A phrase is just a chunk of words, it doesn’t determine sentence type.
