  1. The ABC Book

  2. Your Job • Create a 30 page ABC book that includes: • 1) a cover • 2) a dedication page • 3) a table of contents • 4) one page for each letter of the alphabet • 5) a back cover

  3. Your Book • You can choose to write about whatever subject matter you desire or yearn to explore (with my approval, of course) • There will be a lottery system…no one can repeat a topic in class • This is your opportunity to have a lot of fun, exploring your favorite thing

  4. Your Requirements • 1) Fill out an ABC sheet completely. • 2) For each letter of the alphabet, you must include the letter (with the name) attached to it, a picture, and a DETAILED explanation of what the word is. Paragraphs are required and need to fill up at least ¾’s of your page if you only do one word per page. • 3) Your work must be bound in some way, not stapled. I do not want a binder! • 4) You will be sharing with other classmates, so “Dress to Impress!”

  5. Word Choice • YOU are the author. • YOUR purpose is to inform. • YOUR word choice matters. • YOUR grade depends on your words, your neatness, your knowledge, and the length of your paragraphs.

  6. Red Flags • Font size can’t go over 16 pt. • Do not double-space. Use single space only. • No larger than 1’’ margins. • Pictures can’t be larger than 2’’. • Paragraphs need to be completely filled with interesting, solid facts about your letter word. Remember, your word choice matters. Be descriptive enough and it’s sure to fill up more of the page. Use a thesaurus to get creative. 5-8 sentences minimum.

  7. Dedication Page • This is where you need to write 3 solid paragraphs about your particular subject. MLA format. • Paragraph 1: What is it your topic? Introduce us. • Paragraph 2: Why is it important enough to write about? Explain to us. • Paragraph 3: What are you hoping we will learn from this topic? Inform us of your wish.

  8. Project Due Date Thursday, December 13th, 2012
