  9. The Present structure of NTU of Singapore which is a green and eco-friendly building was partly funded by the Govt. under the IES fund. The building has also been awarded the EENP award.

National Level Incentives GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) scheme for promoting Implementation of Energy efficient solar/ green building Programme Incentive to Architects/ Design Consultants to encourage to design buildings on Green Architectural concepts and get them rated under GRIHA, and incentive will be available from MNRE. Rs 2.5 lakhs for projects equal to 5000 sq.m. built-up area, with minimum 3 star rating Rs 5.0 lakhs for projects > 5000 sq.m. built-up area with minimum 4 star rating

GUJARAT • Gujarat Govt. promotes “Green Business”. • Recognising and rewarding adoption of green technologies, usage of green raw materials, recycling and reusing wastes. • Building awareness – • GPCB provides training, expert advice, equipments and other resources for better environmental compliances. • Narmada Canal • This initiative serves dual purpose of saving water by preventing evaporation as well as generates solar power

  15. Punjab Initiative-- In Punjab, industrial applications submitted by companies are finalised within 90 days by the respective Govt. authority after considering the impact on environment. Prior to establishment, the industries have to abide by the environment compliances towards protecting the environment, failing which they would have to face severe penalty, post establishment. Result-- Most of the industries voluntarily follow environmental compliances norms appropriately.
