Punjab Initiative-- In Punjab, industrial applications submitted by companies are finalised within 90 days by the respective Govt. authority after considering the impact on environment. Prior to establishment, the industries have to abide by the environment compliances towards protecting the environment, failing which they would have to face severe penalty, post establishment. Result-- Most of the industries voluntarily follow environmental compliances norms appropriately.
