Aligns to a one or more Benchmarks (approx 1-30 min.) State/National Academic Standards State standards for PK-12 Education BENCHMARKS A clear, specific description of knowledge or skill that students should acquire by a particular point in their schooling. Consists of many learning targets and aligns to state standards (approx 45 per Grade/Area or Course) K-5 Example Read, write, and order whole numbers*, simple fractions (e.g., halves, fourths, tenths, unit fractions*) and commonly-used decimals (monetary units) 6-12 Example Use the two-dimensional rectangular coordinate system and algebraic procedures to describe and characterize geometric properties and relationships such as slope Learning Target / Key Concept / Knowledge & Skill Very specific statement of what you want a student to know or be able to do.
