  2. One sunny but wet day Sam the spider was wondering around his neighborhood. He stopped to enjoy the surroundings. So after a while he continued to stroll along until he came upon a circular but wet object . He didn’t know what it was, so he figured it was time to investigate.

  3. So Sam continued onward to investigate his journey. He reached his friends and told them he saw a weird circular wet object laying in the neighborhood park. When he told his friends about this object they didn’t know or recognize what it was either. So they all left and went to the park.

  4. So they got to the park and saw the puddle still nobody recognized the object. They questioned it, maybe it could have been something from the night before because there but still no solid hypothesis. So since they didn’t come up with an answer the kids decided to go to school and ask there teacher.

  5. So the three friends reached the school. They told there teacher what happened and what they experienced. Luckily the teacher told them what it was. "it’s called a puddle she said”. They all were confused, not knowing what a puddle is. They asked” what is a puddle”, she told them to follow her and then motioned toward the door.

  6. So the three friends and the teacher went outside the school to take a look at many more puddles. Big and small filled and dry. She was explaining what the puddle actually was. She was telling them puddles are rain that’s left behind and kept in a circular object. There are two types of water, Adhesion and Cohesion. The puddle is both adhesion and cohesion, adhesion is when water sticks to other objects like grass and cohesion is when water doesn’t feel like spreading apart from other water they stick together. Then she asked where she saw the puddle, so they leave and are going to show her where it is.

  7. So they reach the park and the teacher sees the puddle. She tells them that a puddle is like a glass of water and is a universal solvent . She explains that water is used all the time for everyday needs. She then grabs a leaf off the tree and shows them water density, and tells them the leaf is less than 1 gram so it will float. She then took them to the city to show them surface area.

  8. So she brought them to the city and showed them surface tension. Surface tension is when the water is very thin just like puddles all different shapesany sizes. Just as they got there the puddle was forming a capillary action as the water was running into the cracks in the ground. Then it was getting dark and she figured it was time to go home, but she realized that there is two more things to know so she took them to the pond on the way back home

  9. The teacher brought the kids to the pond and showed them specific heat. She said “ Specific heat has a big impact on the earth because if there wasn’t specific heat the world could burn or freeze but sense we are talking about water specific heat it affects the surroundings.” Finally she taught them about polarity, polarity makes it so water that is polar can stick to other polar objects.

  10. After a long day, Sam made it back to his house and had learned tons of new things today. He was telling his parents everything he learned that day. HE was telling his parents how water is universal, and his mom was telling him he was correct they use water everyday for necessities. She told him that water also have different bonds. Such as chemical bonding and hydrogen bonding. She explained that when she poured a glass of water hydrogen bond was broken. Hydrogen bonds are very weak and easily broken..
