  7. The Solution • Changing the schedule • Targeted remediation • Smaller class sizes for Math and English Panther Periods • Timely formative assessments • Utilizing data to make informed decisions

  8. The Process • Identify first time test takers • Teacher input – “Draft Day” • Analysis of Prior test data • Utilize entire certified staff

  9. Instruction and Assessment • SAFE Quizzes • MATS Quizzes • OAS Web Site • Senteo Response Systems

  10. Management and Fluidity • Ensure ALL 11th grade first time test takers are in a Math or English Panther Period • All Seniors taking the SAT are using online SAT test prep • 9th, 10th and 12th grade Study Hall • Back up AP Biology and AP Chemistry with Panther Period

  11. Management and Fluidity • Adjust groupings for various tests • GHSWT • Fall administration of the GHSGT • Winter administration of the GHSGT • Spring Administration of the GHSGT • All football players with coaches • Newspaper staff in the same Panther Period

  12. Results • Made AYP in 2007 • AAA Governor’s Cup Champions • Highest Writing Scores in Houston Co.
