  3. Place value Place Value is very important because without it there would be no numbers only up to 9! Place Value has 5 columns they are ... Units, tens, hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands. Maths was invented by the Greeks.

  4. Expanding Expanding is similar to place value. It’s hard to explain but I will show you an e.g. Number: 349 Expanding: 300 + 40 + 9 = 349 Here is another e.g. Number: 5,349 Expanding:5000 + 300+ 40 + 9

  5. Trading Trading is simular to place value and expanding e.g. 26 + 13 = 39
