    2. 2 Brain Storming Ideas Promote church leadership values such as -: PASSION, Honest Communication, Teamwork, Alignment and Accountability. Assign roles to the elders for execution type activities e.g. Project planning. Use the diagram on the next page as a model of the administration of the church via the elders’ board.

    4. 4 Brain Storming Ideas Develop Key Performance Indicators for the church in areas such as -:, membership growth, lesson study adherence, food baskets, cash given away and Sunday/Wednesday night attendance.

    5. 5 Brain Storming Ideas Also include percentage of tithe payers, percentage of offering to tithe, lay activities reporting, departmental reporting at business meeting, no. of visitors per week, pray and fasting attendance.

    6. 6 Brain Storming Ideas Establish a part-time (eventually full-time) secretariat in the church with the treasurer and clerk to gather data continuously on the membership and the community using the computer. Develop and information system – like “COMSTAT” – to identify the hot spots in the church membership and the community – see the later matrix diagram.

    7. 7 Brain Storming Ideas Elders board – fortnightly, church board – monthly and Business meeting – once per quarter. Focus on accountability and reporting in these meetings particularly at business meeting. Establish ground rules for behaviors during meetings Establish a board/meeting room.

    8. 8 Brain Storming Ideas Focus the entire church on alignment including a theme for the month or quarter. Wednesday to be a real prayer meeting night. Do a SWOT analysis for the church. Understand that soul winning is a result of building on some foundation elements (see next diagram).

    10. 10 Brain Storming Ideas Target individuals for lay training, project management, leadership, teacher and management training. Institute a “parking lot” concept for meetings.

    11. 11 Brain Storming Ideas Establish a balance between inreach and outreach, with discipleship. Inculcate in the leaders that the improvements required in the church are our responsibilities and should be focused on our values of Hope, Unity, and Growth.

    12. 12 Brain Storming Ideas Have a structured way to study bible prophecy and the spirit of prophecy – Sunday night maybe. Leaders/Elders need to move from sickness remedies to a proactive “wellness” approach.

    13. 13 Brain Storming Ideas The members must leave with hope at the end of the services. Use a matrix for classifying members to determine visitation efforts – see diagram below.

    15. 15 Brain Storming Ideas Develop a checklist for sermons What is the central message? Examples of the behavior that the sermon is attempting to address. What is the scripture and spirit of prophecy sections being used for counsel? What are the specific actions being identified? Presentation of the results in a prescription of HOPE.

    16. 16 Brain Storming Ideas Use a recording medium to transcribe a sermon for each elder @ least twice per year. Involve the members in the process of determining the action plans and comments.
