BMT offers many services to the shipping sector, but has a growing involvement across the complete range of integrated solutions for more efficient and sustainable transport. • BMT has enhanced the operations of an increasing number of rail companies through the application of techniques developed for the aviation industry. Strategic and preventive maintenance reviews, specialist engineering skills and independent safety assessments are some of the services provided. • BMT is also active in port development, bringing the benefits of new economic forecasting techniques coupled with advanced traffic modelling and risk assessment, both to investors and operators. BMT is currently working on a range of schemes, from improvements to the world's two largest container ports in Hong Kong and Singapore to green field projects in the Indian sub-continent. As well as international shipping trade in Asia, Europe and the Americas, BMT has been concerned with inland waterway and coastal shipping projects.
