General Objectives of the Parents’ Association: • Working to provide the best environment to our students. • Promote our school and community. • Present the parents and defend their interests in the boards. • Create a social environment for parents. • Organize social events to promote our multicultural community. • Create a communication link between management and parents. • Promote a safe and secure environment for the students.

I am the webmaster for the Parents’ Association website and I work closely with another parent Rene Cortin. • We have just redesigned the website and gave it a new look. • The website is an important tool for sharing information. • We update it throughout the week and we have a link to the European school website, Interparents Little Europe and other useful links.

  12. We urge parents to sign up for updates on the Parents’ Association website, to be informed of what is happening in the school. • On the right hand side of the webpage, you can sign up to receive by email, the latest news from the Parents Association. • After signing up, you need to go back into your mailbox and click on the link to confirm. • As well as working on the website, I am also the SEC representative for parents. • We have meetings with management, teachers and students of the school.

InterParents (IP) • Representatives from all of the PA’s, meet several times a year to discuss proposals and documents. • To prepare for and attend the meetings and work groups, organised by the governing bodies of the ES. • Responsible for major ES decisions. • Parents have a vote • SAC(School Advisory Council) Admin. (PEC) Primary Education Council • Organization of the school year. • The anti-bullying program set up. • School policy (how it affects the children, the parents and the teachers). • New proposals (i.e. changes to be made to the playground, changes to how the children are picked up on Tuesday afternoons and changes in educational support structure). • Language section issues.

Child protection • New safety procedure at the primary gate. • The playground equipment will be changed. • New goals were installed. • The KiVa anti-bullying programme was proposed and will be implemented in October 2014. • May 9th - Introduction to programme for teachers. • October 20th - information meeting for the parents. • October 22nd - KiVa kick off day.

PAC Secretary Role • Prepare and distribute agendas of all (PAC) meetings • Record, prepare and distribute minutes of all PAC meetings in and outside school • Prepare all paperwork for additional meetings like AGM, parents’ evenings and/or information evenings • Maintain custody of all records and documents and keep them up to date • Direct documents that require translation to the relevant persons • Answer and/or redirect help-desk emails • Make appointments with secretaries in school
