  6. THIRD PARTY SERVICE • Every account individually looked at and adjusted from information based on previous sales data, seasonal considerations and local interest articles in publications, which are prioritised accordingly. Taking notice of sell outs and heavy returns then report sent to Wholesaler to down load. Moreover checking with the Wholesaler that they have made the adjustments as instructed. • Tighter control on supplies into Wholesaler and newsagents so as to cut down on problems with newsagents complaining about box outs and excessive numbers of publications received. With greater regulation of supplies going into Newsagents there is a greater probability of magazines being displayed on stands, and therefore increases the likelihood of copies being purchased. • Wastage levels to be reduced to levels agreed by publishers. This will benefit all Newsagents, Wholesaler and Publisher. • If inadequate number of newsagents receiving publications, more copies to be placed into extra outlets for a trial period and manage sales and returns levels to improve flexibility and furthermore to help adjust to these alterations. • Every publication looked at individually in order to understand both the title and market it is intended for. This is to ensure that the correct type of Newsagents are targeted with copies, and should guarantee a greater proportion of copies are sold.

  7. THIRD PARTY SERVICE • Information when magazines are due on sale, confirming price changes, barcode changes, and supplies etc, all to be sent in advance to the wholesaler so not to delay distribution in any way.   • Liaise with wholesaler that magazines have gone on sale on the appropriate date, and if not to check on any problems, and furthermore to check the correct amount received, and ensure they are not different from the information sent in advance. • Check on sale and off sale and final claims are the dates the publisher requires. • Any problems with Wholesaler all go through third party distributor. • Check early returns reports to see which shops have sent back publications early, and then contact the retailers if required and discern why they will not accept the publications. • With the early returns report it can be checked if shops have not received copies and have just been credited by the wholesalers as non deliveries. Then check why credited and not replacement copies sent out as this could be sales lost.

  8. Benefits of Third Party Distributor • NOdealings with Wholesaler unless publishers require to do so. • Saving time and effort getting answers from Wholesaler and checking they are distributing everything according to the publisher’s requirements. • Newsagents information analysed by Copy Management, relevant history and market all better controlled, more efficient control of copies distributed into the appropriate retailers and amounts distributed into them for each publication. This should ensure more copies are then available in the correct outlets and better chance of getting onto the stands with more sales potential from copies displayed and also better awareness for advertisers.

  9. Benefits of Third Party Distributor • Cut wastage supplies and save money from printing too many copies. Money also saved from carriage for transport costs. • Local knowledge of areas and events, therefore local articles of interest can be promoted. With extra copies being placed in appropriate areas and in more Newsagents. • Dealing as a group of publishers to the Wholesalers, this should ensure that better terms can be arranged, therefore saving money. In addition to this, with presenting a united approach there is more strength to get problems sorted out with the wholesaler more efficiently. • Meeting once a month with publisher to update on what is happening, better and quicker answers to questions placed by publishers.

  10. Overall Benefit • The cost to the Publisher will be saved by time saved on dealing with the wholesaler, money from over printing and carriage and better terms from the wholesaler.
