TheseincludeCanada, Costa Rica, Cyprus, IsleofMan, Israel, SouthAfrica, Spain, Ukraine, UnitedKingdomandtheUnited States.
MEDICALEQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES Theglobalshortageandcostofkeylife-saving equipmentandsupplieswasidentifiedasaprimary issuethataffectedallgeographies. Therefore, the provisionofpersonalprotectiveequipment, medical andsanitarysuppliesandtestingkitshadtobea mainfocus. MASKSFORMEDICS MasksforMedicsisacollaborationbetweendoctors andhealthcareworkerswhoareonthefrontline treatingthoseinfectedwithCOVID-19. Theiraimisto equipcommunityhealth-workerswiththePPE (PersonalProtectiveEquipment) requiredtokeep themselvesandotherssafe.
MasksforMedicssuppliesgloves, visors, gowns, surgicalmasks, highriskmasks (N95/KN95/FFP2), sanitiser, thermometers, pulseoximetersand essentialmonitoringequipmenttonurses, care- giverstotheelderly, emergencyresponders, doctors, mentalhealthworkers, palliativecareworkers, and anyonewhoiscaringforverysickCOVID-19patients intheirownhomes. IMPACT FundinghasbeenprovidedbytheScheinbergFund tocoverthePPEneedsof116carehomesforthe elderly (with11,041residentsand6,527staff) across theGreaterMetropoleofCapeTownfor3months, to supplythePPErequiredtoprotectStJohn Ambulance’scommunitycareworkersfor6months, aswellascorefundingtowardsMasksforMedics overheadsandexpensesfor6months.
