Mary Gallert found out that she was adopted at the tender age of six and spent much of her formative years struggling with issues related to personal identity and abandonment. She finally made the decision to search for her birth parents when she was an adult, eventually finding out that her biological mother actually lived close to where she had grown up. Their first meeting was a nerve-wracking experience, but it allowed them to form a strong bond.
