  2. Mission Create an awareness of the needs and abilities of people with physical disabilities and to deliver a wheelchair to every child, teen and adult in the world that cannot afford one.

  3. Wheelchair Foundation & Knights of Columbus The Knights of Columbus has teamed up with the Wheelchair Foundation to help bring wheelchairs to those who lack the freedom of mobility.

  4. What has been done by the Knights of Columbus? • 2002 Supreme Knight met with Wheelchair Foundation representatives • 2003 Sponsored 2000 wheelchairs sent to Afghanistan • 2004-05 Sponsored 2000 wheelchairs sent to Middle East, the Philippines and Mexico. • 2006 2,000 more are being distributed in the Philippines, Mexico and Poland.

  5. What has been done by the Knights of Columbus? Also in 2002, the Wheelchair Foundation met with some of the state officers of the California Knights. Knights immediately began to collect donations.

  8. Donations • When you make a $75 donation you will receive a personalized presentation certificate and a book called Road to Purpose. • When you donate $150 you will receive a signed book from the author.

  9. The Wheelchair • Built in 5 sizes from child to adult widths • Removable arm rests • Swing-away foot rests • High resistance material • Foldable for easy transportation

  10. Question and Answers Q: How do you decide who gets a wheelchair? They distribute wheelchairs worldwide through a network of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's).

  11. Question and Answers Q: Can I designate which country I want my donation to go? For a donation of $21,000, a full container of 280 wheelchairs, you can pick a developing country from their list of approved destinations where they enjoy established and successful distribution relationships. There are currently 109 countries on the list.

  12. Question and Answers Q: Where are the wheelchairs manufactured? They purchase wheelchairs from several manufacturers in Asia that build a quality product designed to be easily maintainable in developing countries.
