Explanation of Data • We began giving pre and post tests for each required class and honors classes during the second trimester of the 2010/2011 school year • We have broken down the results of pre and post tests per section of the class and then also compiled results as an average of all students who took the class • Growth was figured using an average pre test score and an average post test score

  3. United States History • This class is taught during all three trimesters and broken down into an A, B and C section covering the time period from post Reconstruction to present day. • Kelly Netzley teaches all juniors, with the exception of the 2011/2012 school year in which Mark Gregory also taught one section during first and second trimesters due to large class sizes • United States History is a Junior Level class that is required to graduate from OEHS

Honors United States History • Honors United States History is a class that was designed to challenge our top students • Students must have a B or better in all previous social studies classes to be enrolled in the honors class • Honors United States History is a year long course split into A, B and C sections and fulfills the United States History requirement needed for graduation • Honors United States History was first offered during the 2011/2012 school year and all 35 openings were filled

  18. Honors United States History A First Tri 2011/2012 • Students averaged 25.3% on their pre-tests and 90.15% on their post tests. • Students’ knowledge of United States History grew by an average of 64.85% during this trimester.

  20. Honors United States History BSecond Trimester 2011/2012 • Students averaged 25.55% on their pre-tests and 84.5% on their post tests. • During this trimester, students’ knowledge of United States History grew by an average of 58.95%.

  21. World History • This class is taught during all three trimesters and broken down into an A, B and C section. • Lonnie Harger teaches all freshmen World History. • World History is a Freshmen Level class that is required to graduate from OEHS.

  27. World History B 2nd Tri 2011/2012 • Students averaged 22.228% on their pre-tests and 44.066% on their post tests during this trimester. • Students’ knowledge of World History grew by an average of 21.838% during this trimester.

  28. Economics • Economics is taught over the course of one trimester. • Julie Keck and Stephanie Anderson both teach sections of economics to sophomores. • Economics is a sophomore level class and is required to graduate from Ovid-Elsie High School.

  32. Civics • Civics is taught over the course of two trimesters and split into an A and B section. • Julie Keck and Stephanie Anderson both teach sections of Civics A and B. • Civics is a sophomore level course that is required to graduate from Ovid-Elsie High School.
