Today’s Session • Purpose:to familiarize business users with their service by providing an overview of the Coremetrics platform, a high-level view of Coremetrics tagging and terminology, and to enable users to successfully navigate the interface. • Objectives: At the end of this course participants will be able to: • Understand how Coremetrics collects and stores data through the use of cookies and tagging and define common terms • Navigate the interface and access reports • Access in-product guidance and the support portal resources for on-going assistance

  7. Lesson 1: Objectives • At the end of this lesson participants will be able to: • Understand how Coremetrics collects and stores data through the use of cookies and tagging • Define common terms used throughout the reporting suites

  11. Data Collection Basics: Visitors • Persistent cookies track visitors over time • Visitors with multiple sessions are tracked as one unique visitor • Visitors are classified as either new or repeat based on their Coremetrics Cookie

  12. Data Collection Basics: Sessions • Temporary cookies track visits to the site • Sessions begin when the first page is viewed • Sessions end when the browser window is closed or when visitor inactivity reaches 30 minutes

  15. Common Metrics • Bounce Rate: Percent of sessions viewing only one page • Item Abandonment Rate: Items left in the cart or removed at the end of the session • Shopping Cart Abandonment: Shopping carts abandoned at the end of the session • Conversion Rate: Percent of sessions with purchase

  19. Coremetrics Analytics • Step 1: Go to: welcome.coremetrics.com • Step 2: Type in client ID, user name, and password • Locked Out? Click on the “Forgot Password” or “Locked Account” link

Reports • Overview: Performance metrics and reports in intuitive, visual formats.. • Examples of Usage: • Toggle between different report types and visualizations • Insert comments for collaboration • Utilize Insights to improve conversions and visitor engagement • Filter and segment reports to obtain granular reporting

  21. Dashboards • Overview: Quick access to key site data. • Examples of Usage: • Access pre-built dashboards • Create and save role specific views • Categorize views in appropriate folders

Workbooks • Overview: A collection of reports that are easily identifiable by named tabs and remain open once launched. • Examples of Usage: • Toggle between multiple reports for easy comparative analysis • Save and distribute a collection of reports as a Workbook • Save As, Delete, Close All Tabs and Pre-Cache to speed up load time

  32. Ticket Submission Best Practices • Provide the correct Client ID. • Add a screen capture when possible. • Provide date range and report name. • Create a separate ticket for each issue. • CC your colleagues to provide visibility to updates and resolution.
