UNV Philippines Historical Background 1972 • First group of volunteers were sent to Yemen • through the DDS project more Filipino volunteers were deployed to projects in various Asian countries; first int’l volunteer was sent to the Phils • Philippine recipient agencies continue to receive DDS volunteers from these Asian countries 1979 1981
