Magic Jack • Magic Jack is a computer attachment that, in combination with telephone service from the related YMAX Corporation, provides internet-based telephone service (VoIP) to the United States and Canada. Magic Jack is useful because it is designed for people to use for low-rate/ cheap calls from the United States and Canada.
Skype • Skype is an IP telephony service provider that offers free calling between subscribers and low-cost calling to people who don't use the service. In addition to standard telephone calls, Skype enables file transfers, texting, video chat and videoconferencing. The service is available for desktop computers, notebook and tablet computers and other mobile devices, including mobile phones.
Podcasts • Podcasts are series of digital media files, that are distributed with the internet. The files are then simply downloaded with the use of programs like iTunes, Zune, winamp, etc. Podcasts are useful because they allow the user to create/ host their own internet based radio show, and to share tips, and other valuable information in regards to a given subject.
Blogs • A Blog is a type of website usually maintained by an individual who makes frequent commentary, descriptions of events, etc. Blogs are not just a personal thing there are other categories of Blogs such as personal, corporate, by genre, media and device.
Twitter Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts.
Webcasts A webcastis a media file distributed over the Internet using streaming media technology. A webcast may either be distributed live or on demand. Essentially, webcasting is “broadcasting” over the Internet.
Google Talk Google Talk - is a free Windows and web-based application for instant messaging and voice over internet protocol (VOIP), offered by Google Inc. The first beta version of the program was released on August 24, 2005.
White Papers White Papers are documents created to help guide readers in the use of a particular piece of hardware or software. They are useful to a new user when attempting to understand and use a new program.
