To followprinciples Only professional journalists, editors and photographers operating for editorialpurpose, or producing an item containing informative content exclusively will be accepted. Accreditation means possessing of an Identity Card issued by the LOC and approved by the FIG or UEG Editorial use implies use by a media.
Professional? Journalists / Photographers refer to a full time professional activity employed by agencies, newspapers, networks, or freelance. A freelance editor or photographer must providewrittenevidencethathe / sheoperates on behalf of a clearlyidentified media. A freelance editor or photographer operating on his/herownaccountwill no longer beaccepted
Editorial? Selling or giving photos to gymnasts / their fans or coaches is an additional, secondaryactivity, similar to a business. A calendar is not considered an editorial publication. Bookswhether they exist in print or online, are seen by the FIG as editorial publications.
Media ? Blogs are accepted as public journalism when they function integrated within a recognized journalistic media. Website specialistsin gymnastics must be recognized by theirnational federation. • Sites which function mainly as a pass- through-site for edited copy/paste-content cannot be recognized as a press medium. • Fan-sites, sponsor-sites, promotional sites and event-linked sites cannot be recognized as a press medium.
National Federations • For representatives of the affiliated or associated unions & national federations, acting as media for their press & communication activities, limited credentials will be delivered. This includes the web editors. • A doubleaccreditation (press and delegation member) is not accepted.
The accreditation system is an original in house developmentimplemented for the first time in 2007. The UEG appliessameprocedure, samerulessince 2010.
Compulsory! Professional presscard; Letter of support from the Editor; Copies of recent articles; Call the National Press Association.
Media Declaration Upon arrival on site, the media representatives must approve and sign the terms of the FIG/UEG Media Declaration. Anyone who refuses to sign the text of the declaration will be refused accreditation for the event. Anyone who signs the document, but later breaks the agreement, will have accreditation refused for future UEG events and this breach will be announced to the FIG Media Commission.

The Mixed Zone This card is delivered to allow delegation members not holding a media accreditation or a ESF card to escort their gymnasts to the Mixed Zone. Holders of the MZO Card are allowed to escort their gymnasts in the athletes’ lane of the Mixed Zone
The Mixed Zone The Mixed Zone must be situated at the immediate exit from the Competition Area. When leaving the Competition Hall (generally after the Awards Ceremony), the gymnasts must be lead through the Mixed Zone under the STRICT control of the Security, subject to doping control requirements. The doping control has priority over the Mixed Zone. The gymnasts will be led by the LOC MZ Manager to the specific media representatives who want to talk with them. The MZ Manager will take care of the priorities (HB – RTs - ….). Working Order The MZO must be separated into 4 different sections: 1/ Flash interview positions a) On the FOP (HB and RTs) b) in the MZO : 2/ Television section (HB and RTs) 3/ Written Press section (E - EF - EE) 4/ Common section (ENR - EP - EFP - EEP)
Pressconferences Since journalists clearly declared that the Mixed Zone will be their priority for individual interviews, medallists’ press conferences are no longer compulsory. However, a press conference room is still required for special cases. It is up to the LOC to hold a medallists’ press conference with regards to tradition, or sponsors expectations, for example
