  1. Book Covers • People naturally look at the cover first. The cover sets the tone for the book. Book cover design has a huge impact on peoples purchasing decision. People will read the introduction to a book, but will still return to the cover. Take two books at a book stand, both with the same information, one has a great design on the cover, the other has no design, which do you think a buyer would choose?

  2. Assignment • Create a book title. Select a background image from the internet to support the theme of your book. Use Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign to create title imagery. • Use InDesignto compose other text and design elements where necessary. • Provide a packaged InDesign book cover file with fonts and links in a 9.5 X 6.5 file with .125” bleeds. Also create a pdf file of the book cover using crop marks.
