  2. Problem/Solution • Problem: • The EE/CprE Dept. Science Center has a group of exhibits but no way to conduct an organized tour. • Solution: • Make the room more automated in such a way that it interacts with the audience. • Organize the room in an interactive manner to ease the flow of the tour.

  3. Implementing Solutions • Make the room more automated • RFID • Central Computer (Labview) • Commands (audio and/or visual) • Organize the room in an interactive manner • Video Monitors • Lighting • Demos

  4. Design • Labview (Main program) • Touch Screen • Given commands (visual and/or audio) • RFID Reader & Tag(s) • Lighting • Light Control System • Surround Sound System • Video Distribution • Array of video monitors

  5. Done Thus Far… • Started Main Program in Labview • Series of many sub-programs • RFID & X-10 controller programs completed • Looked at lighting options • Organized Science Center • More space for larger crowds • Ease of movement around exhibits

  9. Goals/Schedule • Working Science Center by Spring Break – March 12, 2010 • All subsystems working together cohesively • Main Program completed • Lighting selected and installed • Incorporate current exhibits • Use the remainder of the semester for test and analysis of the project
