Kettle Moraine’s RealityJanuary 2009 • Budget Forecast – Projected expenditures exceed projected revenues, the story remains constant for the past 15 years and next five years. • Economic climate extremely adverse • Declining student enrollment – projected for 5 years – makes KM situation worse than norm.

Requires multiple years to implement • Would require waiver from state DPI requirement • Major and significant contract implications, including • Teacher, Para, custodial unions plus transportation contract. • Benefits of reduced energy and transportation would not justify hardship ($100,000 - $200,000) • Community response: • Day care • Length of day • Athletics and after school activities
