  2. A Basic Entry (Book with One Author) • Author last name, initial(s). (publication year). Title. City of Publication: Publisher. Highmore, B. (2001). Everyday life and cultural theory. New York: Routledge. The first line of the entry touches the left margin The second line (and any additional lines) gets indented

  3. A Basic Entry (Magazine Article) • Author Last Name, Initial(s). (Year of Publication, Month of Publication Day of Publication). Title of article. Title of Magazine, Volume/Issue Numbers, Page Number(s). • Raloff, J. (2001, May 12). Lead therapy won’t help most kids. Science News, 159, 292. Provide as much date information as you are provided with; in this case, you have a day, month, and year. This is the issue number of the magazine. Periodicals may have both issue and volume numbers.

  4. A Basic Entry (Database) • This one is easy. Cite it the same way you would a regular magazine or newspaper source.

Formatting the Bibliography • Turn on double spacing before you start typing. • Center the word Bibliography on the first line. • Type entries in alphabetical order based on the first line of each entry. • The annotation goes directly below the citation. • Italicize titles of books; capitalize only the first word of the title and any proper nouns. • Capitalize names of magazines and newspapers as you would capitalize them normally.
