  3. Plan for increasing Gold Technical colleges are contacting customers who need to improve scores Gwinnett has improved scores for 58 customers (25 to Gold) Clarke has improved scores for 28 customers (6 to Gold) Walton has improved scores for 40 customers (15 to Gold)

  4. GOLD plans Encourage skills gap training prior to WR Make it easy for customers to access gap training Contacting high schools regarding lack of skills gap training activity

  5. 5 Counties Certified; 4 over 90% - Gwinnett made great progress with private sector! All certified counties have made 1/3 increase recertification goals! Issues with Madison and Oglethorpe graduation rate data – all other met Clarke to increase when certified

  6. Talent Management Expanding tech college enrollment: new buildings at ATC and GTC; certificate program at Atlanta Tech in fall ’11 Regulatory career workshops at area colleges with RAPS KSU/SPSU on April 12 Expand “Lab Math” noncredit course to increase completion 2011 Life Science Workforce Forum as communication vehicle

  7. New Life Sciences Building at Gwinnett Tech opening fall 2011

  8. New industry surveys with ICIP nearly complete Biotechnology strand and short courses organized for GSTA Feb. 17-19, 2011 2011 high school biotechnology programs expected to increase to 23 Gwinnett County’s MS biotechnology curriculum up for Samsung “Solve for Tomorrow Award” Career Pathways

  9. GSTA: Biotechnology Day, February 18 Highlights: 16 concurrent workshops Keynotes by Dr. Louis Sullivan and Dr. Steve Stice Panel discussion with NIH, CDC and Emory “Biotech Alley” full of free resources Special lab courses on Saturday at GSU

  10. Industry Network 22 core companies in Human Resource Network Training in fall 2010 in 7 topics for nearly 100 individuals from 14 unique companies Formed Industry Partnership in December ’10 with 6 firms representing about 1200 total employment Surveys near completion Profiling planned or underway for Normaco, Merial (Athens), Porex, and Immucor

  11. Organizational Structure Organizing executive committee including ICRP for oversight 2011 meetings scheduled Crescent Business Journal aids in communication

  12. Leadership Recruited additional leaders for western IC sustaining grant Bill Kitchen, former UCB Director of Government Affairs Kary Gilkeson, Chattahoochee Tech Chris Moder, USG Board of Regents ICAPP Program
