  2. Welcome! • We are so glad that you have chosen one of the premier HR professional development opportunities in the country! • This PowerPoint will cover items that will help you have a phenomenal experience at HR: A League of Our Own. Let’s Play Ball !

  4. Before you arrive . . . • Kalahari has built a BRAND NEW and MUCH LARGER exhibit hall! We’ll be playing ball in the Kilimanjaro Ballroom • New Registration Booth for conference check in.

  5. Before you arrive… • We’re excited about the extra space. The new hall is a little further from the hotel rooms – so bring your walking shoes! • As a courtesy, Kalahari will offer hotel checking near our conference registration booth.

  6. Before you arrive… • Next week – confirmed registrants will receive additional information on the conference – including your “ticket.” • We’ll be scanning your ticket to speed up the registration process. Print out your ticket or leave the ticket on your smart phone for an easy check-in.

  8. Before you arrive . . . • We’re continuing last year’s tradition of wearing jeans at the conference. You’ll probably see us in jeans and you are more than welcome to dress casually with us. • You can download the presentations of our All Star roster by clicking on this link: http://www.ohioshrm.org/hr_conf/handout-results-2012.cfm Password for the site is: 2012OHIO  (All caps) • You don’t have to download all the presentations. We recommend you only print out the sessions you plan to attend - or you can put them on a tablet/laptop to be more green!

Before you arrive . . . • Make sure to bring plenty of business cards with you to give out to other attendees as you network, and also to connect with our amazing Resource Partners in the Ballpark at Kalahari (New Exhibit Hall). • New! The Networking Lounge! • Open from 8AM-5PM each day except for closing day.  • If you are coming to the Conference with guests, and they’d like to come to the Thursday night social, please remember that you need to purchase a guest ticket ($50) for them.   10. Welcome to the SHOW. . . • Our gates will open on Wednesday morning, 9/19/12 beginning at 8:30am. Our registration area will be near the new exhibitor space. This area will also be the Conference lost and found and the place to answer questions during the week. • Don’t miss our TWO phenomenal pre-conference sessions - with Daniel Crosby (Becoming a Strategic Five Tool Leader) & a Health Care Reform update presented by The Hylant Group. • Please note that if you are looking to get all 17.50 available HRCI hours, you need to attend the pre-conf. session as well.

  11. Welcome to the SHOW. . . • Get your lunch before you find your seat! Kalahari is again offering a food service purchase option before our “starter” goes on at 12:15 pm. You can also eat in the Ballroom and get a great seat! • Our opening headliner, Steve Gilliland, will pitch Enjoy The Ride. Make sure you are in your seats by noon to be ready for the game to start! • Look for the SHRM Bookstore for lots of great HR-related items! • Don’t forget our Book signings – • Steve Gilliland, Joe Gerstandt, Karen Hough, Jason Lauritsen, Max Muller, & Jeff Haven

Game Time • The Ohio State HR Council will be starting the annual SHRM Foundation silent auction on Wednesday afternoon – there will be some truly ALL STAR prizes to bid on! • Silent Auction will run from 10AM-6PM; Winners announced at 7PM • Watch for our “RETRIEVER” System located in various sections of the Ballpark at Kalahari. Tweeting is encouraged - #OHSHRM

  14. Post Game Highlights • The Ballpark at Kalahari (Exhibitor Hall) will open on Wednesday night beginning at 5:45 pm until 8:00 pm. The arena will be filled with our great Resource Partners who offer a variety of HR-related solutions. You don’t want to miss out on the fun! • After the Ballpark closes for the night we have an amazing option available to you: • The band - The Spazmatics - will be performing in The Reserve, sponsored by Everstaff.

  15. The Game – Day 2 • We have several Early Bird Sessions on Day 2 to start off your day at 7:15 am. There is a great mix of speakers. • Day 2 is jam-packed with many speakers and you can choose from Concurrent to General Sessions. • The Ballpark will also be open Day 2 and our resource partners would love to see you. We will be having prize drawings from the booths throughout the day. • Don’t forget to visit the SHRM Bookstore! • SHRM bookstore will be open from 8AM-5PM each day except for closing day

  16. Time to Party! • To close out Day 2 we have an incredible carnival event with ballpark-like foods and games. • Our Thursday night social event is sponsored by Glassdoor – a really cool company that you will want to know more about! • And, be on the lookout for the signature drink…Tweetini!!

  17. The Game – Day 3 • Day 3 will offer more Early Bird, General and Concurrent Session. • Our game closer is Jeff Havens. Jeff is one of the funniest speakers you will meet and will send us on our way with a smile.

  18. Extra Innings • 2012 Referral Program! - "Help Us Fill the Ball Park!” and earn a Conference Jersey • If you get a friend or colleague to attend the 2012 conference and they register after September 1, 2012, you can win a conference jersey.  • There will be a “Referral Question” near the end of the registration process. Simply have them type your name in the box. We will track the info and you will be able to pick up your jersey at the conference Registration/Information booth. • Get out there and start networking!

  19. A League of Our Own • We can’t wait to see you join us for the Conference on Wednesday, 9/19/12 – Friday, 9/21/12. • We promise you that your experience will be out of the park!
